Food safety standards of export produce have emerged to be one of the most important concerns in horticultural production. It’s the company’s policy to supply produce with highest threshold standards of quality and safety products for human consumption.
MRL’s have become very common in export business. Laikipia Frais has noted the gap at the farm level as some farmers have not fully realized the need to keep farm records. With this knowledge we have continued to invest heavily in bridging this gap and facilitated continued training for our farmers. Through this partnership withour growers we have realized improved ethical and technical requirements.
We have been certified by Horticultural Crops Directorate (H.C.D.) and approved by Kephis for our continued conformity with the international
standards. Our continued commitment is to serve our markets with best quality, fresh, safe and hygienic for human consumption.
All Laikipia Frais produce is grown from non-GMO seeds, and all of our produce is grown right here in our own carefully monitored Laikipia Frais greenhouses.
IPM (Integrated Pest Management) is very important to Laikipia Frais, and not just because it’s entertaining to see a praying mantis suddenly grab a caterpillar and begin eating it – right in front of our eyes!
Integrated Pest Management concepts and theories have only been practiced in mainstream agriculture for the past 15-20 years. Older greenhouse practices simply used pesticides to deal with infestations. Today, environmentally conscious greenhouses like Laikipia Frais employ university-educated managers who are dedicated to finding the pest problem areas before they become an issue. Laikipa Frais is proud to employ the industry’s top IPM managers. Our competent team understands the various life cycle interactions of pests and beneficial biologicals, and makes positive environmental decisions based on these dynamic natural relationships.
Harmful pests will always be attracted to vegetable crops, but working with nature enables Laikipia Frais to balance things out.
